Bishop Santos to promote and intensify devotion to the Blessed Mother
Incoming Diocese of Antipolo Bishop Ruperto C. Santos plans to promote and strengthen Marian devotion in the country as a way towards a stronger relationship with the Lord.

The Church leader said, the International Shrine of Our Lady of Peace and Good Voyage, which is the first international shrine in the Philippines, may become the center of cultural, theological, and Marian conferences that can bring more pilgrims and visitors to the church as well as to the city of Antipolo. The outgoing shepherd of the Diocese of Balanga in Bataan will be installed during formal rites as the fifth bishop of the Diocese of Antipolo on July 22 at 10 a.m. at the Antipolo Cathedral. Papal Nuncio Archbishop Charles John Brown will lead the installation rites. Church leaders are expected to attend the ceremony. The Vatican announced his new assignment on May 24 to succeed Bishop Francisco de Leon. Bishop Santos has asked the faithful for prayers in his new assignment. “Please help me with your prayers. Remember me always at the altar of our Lord. Intercede me to our Blessed Mother Mary that my episcopal ministry be like her: peace, good and full of grace,” said Bishop Santos over Radio Veritas. After serving the Diocese of Balanga for 13 years, Bishop Santos is set to shepherd together with Antipolo Auxiliary Bishop Nolly C. Buco and retired Bishops De Leon and Gabriel Reyes the more than three million Roman Catholics in the Diocese of Antipolo which has more than 70 parishes across Rizal and Marikina City.
