CAVITE – Authorities collared three suspects involved in a robbery-holdup incident at a convenience store in General Mariano Alvarez (GMA) on Wednesday, July 19.
GMA Municipal Police Station (MPS) Chief Lt. Col. Randy C. Oliquino told the Manila Bulletin that two male suspects, identified as Jaime Christ O. Camerino and Glenn P. Urbano, pretended to be customers at the store before brandishing a gun and declaring a holdup.
Carting away assorted goods and P92,000 cash from the vault, the suspects fled from the crime scene in a motorcycle. CCTV footage backtracking revealed one of the suspects later getting off the motorcycle and climbing into a sedan. Oliquino said it could be a strategy to lead authorities astray if anyone was able to follow them.
GMA MPS conducted a hot pursuit operation in coordination with the Provincial Intelligence Unit, Carmona MPS, and Santa Rosa City Police Station (CPS).
Operatives located Camerino in a motel in Santa Rosa, Laguna, where he was arrested. Also apprehended was a female accomplice identified as Maricel M. Bautista.

“'Yung mga pera nasa possession niya eh, nasa bag niya. Hindi siya nagkaroon ng direct participation, pero 'nung tumakas sila, kasama na siya (The money was in her possession, in her bag. She did not have direct participation, but when they fled, she became a cohort),” Oliquino said in a phone interview. Recovered during the operation were a 9mm pistol, cash amounting to P55,680, assorted goods from the store, and a sedan. In a separate operation in Bacoor City, police arrested Urbano and seized from him P10,000 cash and the motorcycle used as a getaway vehicle. Urbano’s live-in partner also voluntarily surrendered a unit of .38 caliber pistol with ammunition. The three suspects are now under the custody of GMA MPS and are facing robbery charges. In a statement, Cavite Police Provincial Office Director Christopher F. Olazo lauded GMA MPS for their swift actions that led to the immediate arrest of the suspects.
