UP Diliman working with law enforcers on campus sexual assault incident
The University of the Philippines Diliman (UPD) is working with the university police regarding a sexual assault incident that occurred on Saturday, July 1, at its campus in Diliman, Quezon City.

The UPD administration has been "working with the police authorities for the immediate apprehension of the suspect and closely coordinating with the survivor to provide necessary assistance," according to a statement made public on Sunday, July 2. It said the incident took place around 11 p.m. on Saturday, where a female student was "sexually assaulted" by unidentified perpetrators. In light of the incident, the university advised the general public to exercise caution and immediately contact the UPD Police (UPDP) in case of any unusual circumstances. "Everyone is reminded to stay vigilant and report anything suspicious to the UPDP," UPD said.

Meanwhile, to avoid the recurrence of the unwanted event, the UPD said that "more roving security personnel and UPD police officers will be deployed in different areas on campus, especially after office hours." (Sonny Daanoy)
