Man roused from sleep kills sister

SANTO TOMAS CITY, Batangas – A 40-year-old man allegedly killed his 29-year-old sister after he was roused from sleep when she turned on the television in their house in Purok 6, Barangay San Miguel, here, on Saturday night, July 1. Police identified the suspect as Allan Catapang. Investigation said Catapang was sleeping in the living room when the victim, Mathel Catapang, 29, turned on the television. Allan was awakened and confronted his sister, resulting in a heated argument during which the suspect grabbed a kitchen knife and stabbed the victim in the body. The suspect fled and brought the bladed weapon with him. Mathel was taken to the Saint Frances Cabrini Hospital here where she was declared dead.
