Binangonan LGU offers sustainable livelihood to women's group

Aside from teaching the members of a women’s group in Binangonan, Rizal various skills and techniques on some income generating livelihood projects, the municipal government has also opened an opportunity for them for an additional source of living.
The Binangonan Municipal Government has put up a stall at the municipal compound for the members of the Binangonan Local Council of Women (BLCW) - Barkadahan ng mga Kababaihan (BKB), an all-women community organization based in the town.
The stall, dubbed as “Tindahan ng BLCW Livelihood Project” (Store Outlet of the BLCW), showcases various products which the members of the women’s group have learned how to make during the series of seminars that they participated in, as part of the livelihood program of the municipal government for the women sector.
The products on sale at the stall include baskets made of recycled materials, dishwashing liquids and fabric conditioners, hand woven hats, processed foods, among others.

The office of Mayor Cesar Ynares, said the livelihood project of the municipal government for the women’s group in the town is aimed at giving the organization’s members sustainable additional income and bring the products closer to the consumers.

The unveiling event held over the weekend was attended by Mayor Ynares, his wife Dr. Rose Martha Callanta-Ynares, who heads the BKB; Councilor Ting Ting Cerda; Municipal Administrator Russel Guiller C. Ynares; Assistant Municipal Administrator Belinda Colada, and other municipal government officials.
