PBBM, VP Duterte maintain high approval, trust ratings


President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. and Vice President Sara Duterte continued receiving high approval and trust ratings based on the latest RP-Mission and Development Foundation Inc. (RPMD) public opinion poll.

“President Marcos secured an impressive approval rating of 82 percent, while Vice President Duterte showcased commendable public endorsement with a rating of 86 percent,” Dr. Paul Martinez of RPMD said in a statement on Thursday, July 20.

“Further, both leaders exhibited exceptional performance in trust—an essential foundation of leadership,” he added.

Over the past year, the President got a high confidence rating of 86 percent, while the Vice President received a 90 percent trust rating.

According to RPMD, this showed “the profound trust that both officials have successfully instilled among their constituents.”

In the same statement, the RPMD reported that Senate President Juan Miguel Zubiri and House Speaker Martin Romualdez also scored high in the nationwide survey conducted between June 25 and July 5.

Romualdez received 70 percent approval rating, gaining +10 percentage points, while Zubiri has a 69 percent approval rating.

Both congressional leaders also got high trust ratings—Zubiri with 71 percent and Romualdez with 72 percent.

“These results accentuate the growing public sentiment of positivity toward the leadership of these influential congressional figures,” the statement read.

As for the rest of the Senate, Senators Raffy Tulfo (89.4 percent), Mark Villar (88.6 percent), and Bong Revilla (88.5 percent) enjoyed high ratings.

Other ratings for senators were as follow: Francis Tolentino (86.1 percent), Imee Marcos (80.5 percent), Grace Poe (85.8 percent), Bong Go (82.7 percent), Robin Padilla (82.3 percent), Chiz Escudero (86.2 percent), Loren Legarda (80.2 percent), Win Gatchalian (76.5 percent), Sonny Angara (75.7 percent), Cynthia Villar (75.3 percent), Alan Cayetano (72.4 percent), Ronald Dela Rosa (71.8 percent), Koko Pimentel (68.7 percent), Risa Hontiveros (68.2 percent), Nancy Binay (65.8 percent), Pia Cayetano (64.7 percent), Joel Villanueva (61.5 percent), and JV Ejercito Estrada (60.7 percent).

Meanwhile, Interior and Local Government Secretary Benhur Abalos Jr. remained the top Cabinet official with an 88 percent approval rating and 93 percent trust rating.

He was followed by Social Welfare and Development Secretary Rex Gatchalian (76 percent approval and 85 percent trust rating), National Security Adviser Eduardo Año (75 percent approval and 87 percent trust rating), Tourism Secretary Christina Garcia-Frasco (75 percent approval and 70 percent trust rating), Budget and Management Secretary Amenah Pangandaman (73 percent approval and 75 percent trust rating), Trade and Industry Secretary Alfredo Pascual (71 percent approval and 65 percent trust rating), DICT Secretary Ivan John Enrile (71 percent approval and 78 percent trust rating), Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla (69 percent approval and 66 percent trust rating), and Finance Secretary Benjamin Diokno (68 percent approval and 70 percent trust rating).
