The city government of Manila announced on Wednesday, July 19, the city was cited as a "Hall of Famer" for efficiently collecting revenues.

City Mayor Honey Lacuna-Pangan said that the local government is doing its best to ensure that all the sources of revenues directly go to the city’s fund.

Lacuna-Pangan expressed gratitude to the City Treasurer's Office (CTO) for helping the city get into the hall of fame list of revenue collectors.

She commended CTO head Jasmin Talegon for hard work and effort in ensuring that the local government's finances are in order.

"Tayo ay hall of famer dahil sa kanilang masinop na pangongolekta ng pondo para sa ating lungsod. Lagi nilang pinag-iipunan ang kapakanan at benepisyo ng bawat isang kawani ng lungsod (We are hall of famers because of their efficient fund collection for our city. They always work hard for the welfare and benefits of every city employee)," the Mayor said.

Mayor Honey also said CTO employees like Talegon help her administration fund all the city's programs and projects that will benefit thousands of workers.

"Napaka-swerte natin dahil transparent ang pamahalaan. Marami ang tumutulong sa atin (We are very lucky because the government is transparent. Many people help us)," she said.

"Sinisikap talaga natin na lahat ng maaring panggalingan ng pondo ay pumasok sa ating lungsod (We are really trying to get all possible sources of funds for our city)," she added.

Meanwhile, Lacuna- Pangan urged all the other revenue-generating departments, offices, and bureaus under the city government to help increase funds for the city government.
