Contractor shot dead in Quezon

CANDELARIA, Quezon – A 48-year-old contractor was gunned down on Wednesday morning, July 19, in Barangay Poblacion, this town. Police identified the victim as Cornelio Cuevas, a resident of Sitio Labak, Barangay Poblacion, here. Investigation said Cuevas was inside his car parked on the road when two men suddenly appeared and opened fire, killing the victim on the spot. Suspects fled to an unknown direction. Five fired cartridge cases for caliber .45 were found at the crime scene. Police are conducting manhunt operations against the gunmen.
