Salesman dies in tricycle-bus collision

BACOLOD CITY – A salesman was killed in a collision with a Ceres Liner bus in Barangay Cabacungan, La Castellana, Negros Occidental on Sunday, July 16. The victim was identified as Anthony Paulan, 42, of Moises Padilla, Negros Occidental. Police Capt. Dennis Melgarejo, La Castellana Municipal Police Station deputy chief, said that Paulan lost control of his tricycle while approaching a curved part of the road and rammed into the bus. Bus passengers were unharmed while the bus driver was placed under police custody. Melgarejo said the victim’s family and the bus company reached a settlement on Monday, July 17. The bus driver was released from police custody on Monday night, he added.
