Louie Vigil a much needed offensive spark for Wilcon Depot 3x3
Louie Vigil was just as advertised as his arrival gave Wilcon Depot 3x3 a much needed firepower in Leg 3 of the PBA 3x3 Season 3 First Conference.

However, the guest team's quarterfinal finish showed that there's still a lot of ground that they will have to cover to get over the hump. "Louie gave us that additional offensive option which we badly needed from the first two legs, but we still have lots to work on if we want to make it to the semifinals and eventually, win the championship," said coach Anton Altamirano on Tuesday, July 18, at Ayala Malls Manila Bay. It was a valiant effort from Wilcon, surviving the pool phase after shaking off a slim 21-18 defeat to San Miguel before responding with big wins against Meralco Bolts 3x3, 15-13, and an emphatic 20-11 rout of NorthPort. But Wilcon found itself on a rut after leading by five in the last four minutes of the quarterfinals before falling to Cavitex, 19-17. Keith Datu led the cavalry with seven points, Vigil scored four, and TH Tumalip also added four in the exit. With three legs under their belt, Wilcon is keeping its hopes up as it sees gradual improvements from its side. "Unti-unti lang. May magaganda na kaming nakikita, so importante na lang dito na mag-mature pa lalo yung team sa mga susunod pang leg," said Altamirano. Wilcon Depot 3x3 eyes to break through the semis on Leg Four next week at Ayala Malls Trinoma.
