The Cargo Movers bounced back from their five-set loss to the Petro Gazz Angels and secured the first berth for the next round in Pool B after finishing the elimination round with a 4-1 card. Ivy Lacsina led all scorers with 16 points on 11 attacks, two blocks and three service aces while Majoy Baron had 12 points. F2 Logistics joined defending champion and unbeaten Creamline Cool Smashers in the round-robin semifinals, where two visiting foreign clubs await them. Mars Alba gave F2 Logistics a double-digit lead of 22-12 through a service ace before Jov Fernandez and Myla Pablo hammered back-to-back crosscourt kills to bring the Cargo Movers at match point. Despite Jasmine Nabor's two consecutive points, all it took was an Aby Maraño quick attack to punctuate the match. The Tornadoes wound up with a 1-4 slate in the standings as all players were held to a single-digit production. Meanwhile, rookie Faith Nisperos and veteran Dindin Santiago-Manabat conspired to help Akari eke out a 25-20, 22-25, 27-25, 25-27, 15-12 victory over Gerflor to claim its first win in the mid-year conference. The Chargers wrapped up their campaign with a lone win against three losses to finish in fourth place in Pool A. Nisperos delivered 18 points built on 17 attacks and one block while Santiago-Manabat contributed 17 points on 14 attacks and three blocks in their breakthrough win.
