CALAUAG, Quezon – Five New People’s Army Improvised Explosive Devices (IED) were recovered in Barangay Kigtan here on Monday, July 17.
Quezon police director Police Col. Ledon Monte told Police Regional Office 4-A chief Police Brig. Gen. Carlito Gaces that a resident informed authorities about the presence of these bombs.
Police and military operatives were deployed to the area and found a black bag containing these explosives believed to be left behind by communist rebels.
Monte said the discovery of these IEDs is part of the unceasing efforts for a Stable Internal and Peace Security (SIPS) and insurgency-free Quezon.
Law enforcement activities have been intensified to ensure that SIPS brings sustainable development to the province, he said.
“Being insurgency free did not stop with the declaration. We will continue to protect Quezon from evil caused by Leftist enemies," said Monte.
