Over 100 students from the Parañaque Elementary School joined the plastic collection and sustainability learning session hosted by Mondelez Philippines last June 26.
The initiative of the snack company, conducted in partnership with The Plastic Flamingo, was a part of its global sustainability advocacy.
The participating students collected a total of 35 kilograms of plastic waste such as plastic bottles, wrappers, and containers that were placed in sacks and garbage bags.
The waste will be “diverted properly to avoid becoming marine litter,” said Mondelez Philippines.
The program was held in celebration of Mondelez Philippines’ 60 years in the country and six decades of operations in its manufacturing facility in Parañaque City.
