The daily water service interruptions earlier imposed by the Maynilad Water Services as a measure to address water supply shortage have been lifted following the replenishment of dams and reservoirs due to heavy rains in the past days.
Maynilad started lifting its daily water service interruption over the weekend.
In a social media post, Maynilad said tropical storm Dodong for instance has increased the water level at the Ipo and Angat Dam.
Based on the data of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) on Monday, July 17, Angat Dam’s water level increased by nearly one meter which reached its level to 180 meters around 6 a.m.
Ipo Dam’s water level, on the other hand, is at 100.82 meters.
Maynilad earlier announced that it would start the daily water serfice interruptions on July 12 which affected over 591,000 households in Caloocan, Malabon, Valenzuela, Navotas, Quezon City and Manila.
This, after the National Water Resources Board (NWRB) lowered the water allocations from Angat Dam from 50 cubic meters per second (CMS) to its benchmark allocation of 48 cms. (Nicole Magmanlac)
