The Filipino meets Baatarkhuu in an MMA clash between two red-hot bantamweights at ONE Fight Night 13: Allazov vs. Grigorian on August 5 inside Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.

It will be a battle of streaks, with Sangiao putting his unbeaten record on the line against Baatarkhuu’s eight-fight winning run. However, the Team Lakay representative is unfazed by what the Mongolian brings to the table.

“I don’t want to sound too confident. He’s certainly a strong fighter, but I don’t think we’re on the same skill level,” he said.

“I’ve been doing this since I was a kid, that’s why I know that I can hang with whatever he plans to do, for sure.”

Sangiao’s confidence seems warranted, as he’s run through the competition so far. In fact, he spent a grand total of four minutes and 27 seconds inside the ONE Championship Circle in his last three bouts against Paul Lumihi, LA Lauron, and Matias Farinelli.

While Sangiao is confident he will score another win in August, he’s not too worried about the manner of how he does it – despite his three successive first-round victories in the promotion.

After winning a combined US$100,000 in bonuses over the past two fights, one might say that Sangiao should look for a finish and shoot for a third consecutive performance bonus in the promotion.

But he’s proven to be wise beyond his years and plans to get past Baatarkhuu however he can.

“Each time I fight, the goal is to win and get my hands raised after the fight. Whatever comes with it are all the bonuses and extras,” he said.

Once he’s done with Baatarkhuu, Sangiao can start actively searching for his one true test in the division. And he thinks he’ll find it in whoever is holding the ONE Bantamweight World Title.

“I want to prove something. Fans have been telling me that this is the biggest test that I’ll be facing in my ONE Championship career. I say no. I’m just starting. This isn’t the test for me. The biggest test for me would be a World Title fight,” he said.
