Bohol Gov. Aris Aumentado met representatives from the DTE Construction and Development Corp. and discussed the construction of the Bohol-Cebu bridge.

“They informed us of their interest to build a Bohol-Cebu Bridge through a Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) project scheme,” Aumentado said.

To show that the company and their foreign partner is serious in their proposal, the company is willing to issue a performance bond worth P1 billion, Aumentado said.

In their proposal, the provincial government of Bohol will not be spending a single centavo for the project, Aumentado said.

The governor has tasked provincial legal officer Handel Lagunay and provincial planning and development officer John Titus Vistal to study the Bohol-Cebu bridge project.

Aumentado said if the project materializes, it will have a big impact on the development of Bohol.

“If this is approved, it will be easier to travel to Cebu and vice versa. This will create more opportunities that will help improve the economy in our province,” said Aumentado.
