LA TRINIDAD, Benguet – Eight police officers from the Police Regional Office-Cordillera were feted on Monday, July 17, for their notable accomplishments.
Police Brig. Gen. David Peredo Jr., PRO-Cordillera chief, and Julius Torres, Commission on Elections-Cordillera director, awarded medals to the eight police officers at the Multi-purpose Center in Camp Major Bado Dangwa here.
The Medalya ng Kasanayan (Philippine National Police Efficiency Medal) was awarded to Police Lt. Col. Vivian Paclibon, acting chief of the Regional Information and Communication Technology Management Division (RICTMD), and Police Patrolman Tommy Nixon Facsay, Police Patrolman Roger Kitongan III, and Police Lt. Cartner Rhyse Kelly of the Regional Information and Technology Office for the successful conduct of the Computer Hardware Maintenance and Troubleshooting Course from April 11 to 18 in this camp.
The same award was presented to Police Lt. Col. Berniel Gotoman of Regional Communications and Electronics Unit and Police Chief Master Sgt. Jamson Marzan for the successful conduct of Basic Radio and Telephone Operations, Procedures, and Preventive Seminar from June 1 to 20 also in this camp.
Police Chief Master Sgt. Tirso Botiwtiw and Police Corporal Jemuel Madino of the Benguet Police Provincial Office (PPO) received the Medalya ng Kagalingan for the successful service of a warrant of arrest against the No. 9 Most Wanted Person, Provincial Level, of the Benguet PPO for the second quarter of this year.
Torres cited the men and women of the PRO-Cordillera for their integrity which resulted in the peaceful conduct of elections for the past years.
He said that with the help of the Police Regional office-Cordillera, the Sangguniang Kabataan and Barangay Elections (BSKE) in October are expected to be peaceful.
"The barangay elections are manual elections; they're not automated. That's why it is most important to emphasize the role of the Philippine National Police as the primary agency in charge of the peace and order of the country. I believe that we are partners; the Comelec cannot run the election all by itself; we all need you; we need all our partner agencies; and it is through full cooperation and support among all of us that will ensure the success of this coming election," Torres said.
