Parañaque LGU, PhilSeven Foundation hold blood-letting activity

The Parañaque city government and the PhilSeven Foundation Inc. conducted a blood-letting activity at SM City Sucat on Friday, July 14. Mayor Eric Olivarez said the activity was part of the one-week celebration of “7-11 Day” with a theme of “Sanduguan at Kapitbahayan."

The blood-letting activity was done in partnership with the Department of Health (DOH), Philippine Red Cross, and the Medical Center Parañaque. The City Health Office (CHO), under the supervision of Dr. Olga Virtusio, also assisted in the blood-letting activity. Olivarez said out of 83 residents, aged 18 to 60, who registered for the event, 34 individuals were able to donate blood. The blood donors underwent a screening process like blood type test, blood pressure screening and hemoglobin test to determine whether they were qualified to donate blood. The mayor said the program will be conducted annually by the city government and PhilSeven Foundation Inc.
