Sisi Rondina powered Choco Mucho anew as it escaped Petro Gazz with a nail-biting 25-22, 25-15, 22-25, 18-25, 15-10 victory in the 2023 Premier Volleyball League (PVL) Invitational Conference on Saturday night, July 15, at the Philsports Arena in Pasig City.
Rondina fired 29 points highlighted by 25 attacks including the clincher that sealed the win for Choco Mucho, which improved its standings to 3-1 in Pool A and boost its semifinal bid.

Cherry Nunag added 13 points built on nine attacks and four blocks while Des Cheng and Caitlin Viray added 12 points apiece in the crucial encounter. Choco Mucho took a commanding two-set lead and almost sent Petro Gazz to the brink of elimination. The Angels needed an outright win to see themselves through a potential semis berth or at least succumb in five sets for a fighting chance for the next round. With that in mind, Petro Gazz fought back from two sets down to forge a deciding frame. However, the Angels trailed early in the fifth set, 4-1, before putting it in its last deadlock of 8-all. All the Flying Titans needed was a 7-2 run to ice the game and come away with the hard-earned win. Veteran Rhea Dimaculangan’s playmaking brought the Angels to a balanced scoring which went for naught, with Jonah Sabete and Grethcel Soltones finishing with 16 and 15 points, respectively. Petro Gazz slid 3-2 in the six-team group standings as they await for the results of F2 Logistics and Cignal HD Spikers’ last matches against separate foes to determine their fate.
