Junk collector shot dead in Tondo; police hunt down 2 suspects

* Operatives of the Manila Police District (MPD) are hunting down the two gunmen who shot dead a junk collector in Barangay 105, Tondo, Manila on Thursday morning, July 13. Police identified the victim as Rogel Ilagan, 38, a resident of Barangay 128, Tondo, Manila. The two suspects were identified as Jomel Mallari, 27, and Michael Morales, 24, both residents of Barangay 105, Tondo, Manila. According to the initial report, Mallari fired three shots at the victim without apparent reason around 10:30 a.m. The victim died at Tondo Medical Hospital at 3:45 p.m. The gunmen were identified during the course of investigation conducted by the personnel of the Smokey Mountain Police Community Precinct (PCP) and Station Investigation Detective Management Branch (SIDMB). The suspects remain at large.
