Marcos received the painting from Eduard Perreras during a turnover in Malacañang's study room.

In a video posted by Radio Television Malacañang (RTVM), Marcos expressed his "delight upon seeing the impressive painting".

Perreras' portrait depicted an image of President Marcos wearing a barong and standing in front of the Philippine flag, along with the seal of the Office of the President (OP)

In their brief exchange, Perreras told Marcos that it took him less than two months--allotting approximately 10 hours a day--to complete the painting.

The President was accompanied by his sister Irene Marcos-Araneta during the turnover.

This was the second portrait that Marcos received since he assumed office in June 2022. The first portrait was from renowned Filipino artist Alvin Hipolito in October 2022.

In a tweet, the President thanked the Hipolito for the gift, which he described as "world-class".

"Another example of Pinoy creativity. Thank you, Alvin Hipolito, for this beautiful work of art. World-class!" he wrote.

Hipolito is the son of the late visual artist Dante Hipolito, who was known for his painting "Salubong", which portrays Pope Francis with some Filipino celebrities in a rural setting.
