Driver stabbed to death in Quezon

SARIAYA, Quezon – A 24-year-old driver was stabbed dead during a scuffle at Palmas Verdes Subdivision, Barangay Concepcion 1, this town, on Thursday, July 13. Police identified the victim as Reynante Rance Jr. of Barangay Tubigan, Unisan, Quezon. Investigation said the suspect, Niel Rhyan Peña, 20, of Barangay Concepcion Pinagbakuran here was buying cigarettes in a store with a companion, Josel Reyes, when the victim arrived and mauled Reyes. Rance drew a fan knife but the suspect grabbed the weapon and stabbed the victim several times in the body. The victim was taken to the hospital where he was declared dead. The suspect was arrested by responding police. Lawmen are preparing appropriate charges against the suspect.
