CAMP RAFAEL C. RODRIGUEZ, Butuan City – The Police Regional Office-13 has announced that 1,536 police personnel from the Caraga region have completed specialized training courses from January 1 to July 12 that would enhance their competency and proficiency in law enforcement.
The PRO 13 Regional Learning and Doctrine Development Division (RLDDD) said that trained personnel comprised of 90 Police Commissioned Officers (PCO), 1,416 Police Non-Commissioned Officers (PNCOs), and 30 Non-Uniformed Personnel (NUP).
They attended 37 training programs that improved their knowledge and skills in investigation, intelligence, police-community relations, internal security operations, resource management, logistics, and police operations.
Among the trainings they completed were Investigation Officers Basic Course, Criminal Investigation Course, Automated Fingerprint Identification System, Crime Scene First Responders Seminar and Workshop, Next Generation Investigation Solution Seminar, and Specialized Course for Investigation of Crimes Involving Women and Children for PNP-WCPD Officers.
The Basic Internal Security Operations Course and Retooled Community Support Program were also conducted to complement the counterinsurgency efforts of the police in the region.
Other training programs were Field Training Officers Course, Patrol Officers Basic Course, Integrated Training Program for Mandatory Seminars on Moral Recovery Program, Human Rights and Gender and Development, FORM Police, PNP Modified Handgun Marksmanship Familiarization Proficiency Training, Basic Communications and Electronics Course, Seminar-Workshop on Disciplinary and Non-Disciplinary Procedures, Basic Human Resource Management Seminar, Intelligence Basic Course for PNCOs, Basic Logistics Course for PNCOs, Basic Armorers Course, Tourist Oriented Police for Community Order and Protection, and Enhanced Managing Police Operations.
Another 71 specialized training programs are scheduled to open before the end of the year.
PRO-13 Director Police Brig. Gen. Pablo G. Labra II cited these trainings.
"These specialized training programs play a significant role in the development of professionalism, discipline, integrity, and ethical conduct among our ranks,” Labra said. “Our police officers have gained a deeper understanding of laws, regulations, and procedures relevant to our sworn duties,” he added.
