In a social media post, UP Manila confirmed the suspension, citing the Office of the Chancellor. "Work and classes in UP Manila are suspended at 2:00PM, today, 13 July 2023 due to persistent rain. Please stay safe," UPM wrote. The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said Metro Manila is included in the areas that may experience heavy rains on July 13. This is due to a combined effect of the enhanced southwest monsoon, or “habagat,” and low-pressure area (LPA) that was last spotted 160 kilometers east-northeast of Infanta, Quezon, and may become a tropical depression "Dodong" within 48 hours. *(Sonny Daanoy)* Read: [https://mb.com.ph/2023/7/13/lpa-may-become-tropical-depression-dodong-within-48-hours-pagasa](https://mb.com.ph/2023/7/13/lpa-may-become-tropical-depression-dodong-within-48-hours-pagasa)
