The Korean Embassy in the Philippines announced on July 13 that it will open the Korea Visa Application Center (KVAC) in August that will handle visa applications.
Currently, Filipinos who want to apply for a Korean visa, including a tourist visa, need to secure an appointment online.

However, many have been unable to secure visa appointments as the slots immediately get filled up. "Applications without online reservations will be accepted" when the KVAC starts its official operation on Aug. 29. In its new notice, the Korean Embassy said it will be changing visa application policies when the KVAC opens. The embassy announced the following details about the KVAC:

\- After the opening of KVAC\, submission of visa applications and release of passports will only be available at KVAC\. -Opening date : August 14, 2023 -Pilot operation period : August 14 - 25, 2023 ※ Only applications with online reservation will be accepted -Start of official operation: August 29, 2023 (tentative date only, confirmed date will be announced in the future) ※ Applications without online reservations will be acceptedOnline Visa Appointment
\- The current online visa appointment system will end after the last opening of slots for the month of August\. \- From August 29\, 2023\, online reservation will no longer be required to apply for a Korean visa\. Walk\-in visa applications at KVAC will be accepted on any working day\. There will be no limit as to the number of visa applications accepted per day\. \- However\, online reservation is required for visa applications to be filed from August 1 \-25\, 2023\. \- Online reservation slots for the month of August will open on July 27\, 2023 at 09:00\. \- Applications with online reservation will be accepted at the Korean Embassy from August 1 – 11\. \- Applications with online reservation will be accepted at KVAC starting August 14 – 25\.Designated Travel Agencies for Visa Application
\- Starting from the official operation of KVAC on August 29\, 2023\, visa applications will be accepted only if filed in person or through one of our designated travel agencies\. \- The list of designated travel agencies for 2022 remains valid\.
