Doctors Rollin and Daisy Tabuena, Asclepius Corporation honored at Asia's Golden Icon Awards 2023

Asia’s Golden Icon Awards has given recognition to 203 awardees from Southeast Asia on June 2, 2023, each of them cited for outstanding contribution to various fields of endeavor. Leading the awardees were Dr. Rollin P. Tabuena, who was recognized as “Asia’s Most Distinguished Doctor in Pulmonary Medicine,” and his wife, Dr. Ma. Daisy P. Tabuena, as “Asia's Exceptional Doctor in Neurology Medicine."
Also given recognition by Asia’s Golden Icon Awards was Asclepius Corporation, as "Asia's Prolific Drugstore and Most Trusted Allied Medical Services." The company, owned by Dr. Rollin and Dr. Daisy Tabuena, began in 2006, and is now a popular medical and healthcare provider.
The awarding ceremonies, held at the Pacific Grand Ballroom of the Waterfront Hotel in Cebu City, last June 2, 2023, was attended by members of the executive council and ambassadors from various embassies.
According to Dr. Ronnel Ybañez, chairman of the awarding body, the winners were judged by a panel of experts and professionals in the various categories. "Asia's Golden Icon Awards 2023 recognizes the most outstanding people, from the ordinary to the extraordinary, in building community and solidarity. The awardees were cited for their expertise and service to the community. The awards reflect the appreciation of the target audience," he said.
He explained that this year's elite winners circle is a mix of individuals and institutions from various fields, and were carefully chosen due to their tangible and quantifiable performance outputs. After receiving the award, Dr. Rollin said: "We are a team; my wife and I and our staff. It's a collaborative effort to achieve the highest standard of medical care for our clients and patients. With this recognition, we will strive harder to be better at what we do." In his "thank you" speech, Dr. Rollin Tabuena shared that being a doctor is not only a title he carries, but it is a calling to heal and save lives. He said that awards are only symbols but what’s really important is what lies in the person. "Service above self is what truly matters,” he said. The Asia's Golden Icon Awards has recognized deserving individuals and companies since it started in 2021. Among the awardees for 2023 were: Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Benjamin “Benhur” Abalos, Sen. Robin Padilla, Sen. Joseph Victor “JV” Ejercito, Sen. Sherwin “Win” Gatchalian, Michael Alexander Ang, Tony Meloto, Cebu Gov. Gwendolyn “Gwen” Garcia, Quirino Gov. Dakila “Dax” Cua, Cebu City Mayor Michael Lopez Rama, and Señor Michel Llhuilier.
