Sibol MLBB, Dota 2 teams punch tickets to IESF Worlds in Romania
The Sibol National teams in Mobile Legends: Bang Bang and Dota 2 have formally punched their tickets to the IESF World Esports Championships in Iasi, Romania after advancing to the playoffs in the Asian and Oceania qualifier in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Both the Filipino MLBB and Dota 2 teams stamped their classes and came out unscathed through the group stage of their respective tournaments at the Riyadh Boulevard. The Sibol MLBB, composed of players from AP Bren, didn't drop a single game in its three best-of-three group stage assignments en route to the upper bracket of the playoffs. The Filipinos topped Group B with a 3-0 record after dominating Bangladesh, Kazakhstan and host Saudi Arabia. It is set to face Southeast Asian rival Cambodia in the upper bracket after it placed second in the Group A which was then topped by Mongolia with a 3-0 record. Meanwhile, Sibol’s Dota 2 team, mostly composed of players from Polaris Esports, also lorded over its field with a perfect 3-0 record in the group stage. It clobbered Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia and India on its way to the upper bracket semifinals where it still awaits its opponents which could either be Jordan or Australia. Should the Filipino MLBB and Dota 2 teams go all the way to the qualifiers title, they can bag the top prize of at least P385,000 each.
