SC needs personnel for 2023 Bar exams

The Supreme Court (SC) started today, July 13, recruiting lawyers and judiciary employees to act as local personnel in the 2023 online and regionalized Bar examinations set on Sept. 17, 20, and 24 in 14 testing centers nationwide. In a notice issued by Office of the Bar Confidant Officer-in-Charge Amor P. Entila, the applications will be accepted by the SC until July 20. The local personnel for the Bar exams will serve as floor supervisors, head proctors, proctors, and runners Qualifications for the posts are -- lawyer in good standing outside of the judiciary, or an incumbent Judiciary employee, including those with permanent, coterminous, and casual status; fully vaccinated against Covid-19 and has received at least one booster dose at the time of application; not teaching in any law school or law review center; has a a Landbank of the Philippines account in one’s own name; and has no relative within the fourth civil degree of consanguinity or affinity who will take the 2023 Bar exams in the same local testing center where the personnel will serve. The SC also said that applicants may apply to serve only in the area where they are currently residing. In Bar Bulletin No. 4, the SC said the local testing centers in the NCR will be at the San Beda University, Manila; University of Santo Tomas, Manila; San Beda College, Alabang in Muntinlupa City; University of the Philippines, Quezon City; Manila Adventist College, Pasay City; and University of the Philippines, Bonifacio Global City. In Luzon, the LTCs will be at the Saint Louis University in Baguio City; Cagayan State University, Tuguegarao City; and University of Nueva Caceres, Naga City. In the Visayas, University of San Jose-Recoletos in Cebu City, University of San Carlos also in Cebu City, and Dr. V. Orestes Romualdez Educational Foundation in Tacloban City will be the LTCs. There will be two LTCs in Mindanao – one at the Ateneo de Davao University in Davao City and the other at the Xavier University in Cagayan de Oro City. Justice Ramon Paul L. Hernando, chairperson of the 2023 Bar examinations committee, said the San Beda College in Alabang will also be the site of the national headquarters of the examinations “where the Court will be supervising and directing the simultaneous operations in the different LTCs during the Bar Examinations.”
