CIDG arrests 4 foreigners, seizes P1.3M worth of coffee products in Pampanga

Operatives of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) have arrested four foreigners for allegedly selling unregistered coffee products worth P1.3 million during an entrapment operation in San Simon, Pampanga. Nabbed were Chinese Geen Chen, 33; Huang Sheng; Indonesian Dedy Candra; and, Chen Linren who was arrested for obstruction of justice when he tried to prevent policemen from arresting the three. CIDG director Maj. Gen. Romeo Caramat said the operation stemmed from confirmed intelligence reports about the rampant selling of unregistered products which are believed to be smuggled into the country. Seized during the entrapment on July 10 inBarangay Dela Paz were hundreds of boxes of coffee products, a delivery truck and various documents. Caramat said his men are now preparing criminal charges against the arrested suspects.
