1,165 farmers in Negros Occidental receive P5.8-M aid

BACOLOD CITY – A total of P5.8-million worth of assistance were recently given to 1,165 farmer-beneficiaries in La Castellana, Negros Occidental.
A TOTAL of 1,165 farmer-beneficiaries receive P5.8 million worth of assistance from the Department of Agriculture in La Castellana, Negros Occidental over the weekend. Eugenio Jose Lacson and Mayor Rhumyla Nicor-Mangilimutan led the distribution of the Rice Competitiveness Enhancement Fund-Rice Farmers Financial Assistance (RCEF- RFFA), along with Negros Occidental Rep. Dino Yulo, Provincial Board Member Rita Gatuslao, and Dina Genzola of the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist at the public plaza over the weekend. Cash cards loaded with P5,000 each were given to recipients. The RCEF-RFFA of the Department of Agriculture (DA) aims to provide cash assistance to smallholder rice farmers tilling rice lands two hectares and below. It also provides temporary relief to eligible farmers throughout the implementation years of the Rice Tariffication Law.
