Head coach Anton Altamirano believes that the wheels are turning for the guest team with positives seen all around.
"Mas maganda na yung pinapakita ng team. Nakukundisyon na kami unti-unti and we're optimistic sa mga susunod pang legs," he said.
Wilcon Depot valiantly fought before narrowly losing to Meralco 3x3, 14-13, in the quarters on Tuesday, July 11, at Ayala Malls Circuit in Makati.
"Breaks of the game lang. We played against a tough Meralco squad and you can see na we're able to keep up with them," Altamirano said.
TH Tumalip was one of the constants for Wilcon Depot, notching six points and eight rebounds as he continued to be the leader for the squad.
Ael Banal has also shown promise with his three points and four boards in the tough setback, Keith Datu got three and Yutien Andrada scored a pair.
It also didn't help that the luck of the draw went against Wilcon Depot as it dropped to the third seed in Pool B even though it won two of its three games in the group phase a day prior.
The team beat NorthPort, 21-15, and San Miguel, 17-14, but its earlier 18-12 loss to Pioneer proved to be costly, thus the unfavorable placing in the quarterfinals.
Nonetheless, Altamirano has high hopes moving forward.
"Ang importante sa amin lumalaban yung team at nakikita naman na konti na lang, pwede na tayong makasabay doon sa mga nangunguna this conference," he said.
