Over P1.1 million worth of shabu seized in QC buy-bust op


Police arrested four men after they yielded over P1.1 million worth of shabu in two buy-bust operations launched in Quezon City on Monday, July 10, and Tuesday, July 11. 

The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) Payatas Bagong Silangan Station (PS 13) identified two suspects as Michael Suaiso Velarde and Mark John Ramirez Gungob who were arrested inside a house on Molave Street, Barangay Payatas B, Quezon City at around 6:10 p.m on Monday. 

PS 13 operatives launched the entrapment operation against the suspects after a concerned citizen reported to them about their illegal drug trade activities in the area.

A police officer posed as a buyer and successfully bought P500 worth of shabu Valerde, which led to the arrest of the two suspects.

Confiscated from them were 45 grams of alleged shaby valued at P306,000, a black coin purse, and the buy-bust money.

Meanwhile, the  QCPD District Drug Enforcement Unit (DDEU) identified the two other suspects as  Roque Larcen and Baetiong Vhanjo.

They were nabbed by DDEU operatives at 2:30 a.m. on Tuesday, in front of No. 24 Eulogia Drive, Brgy. Apolonio Samson, Quezon City.

Authorities seized 125 grams of “shabu” worth P850,000.00, a black sling bag, a cellular phone, and the buy-bust money from the suspects. 

All the suspects will be charged for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 before the Quezon City Prosecutor’s Office, the QCPD said.
