The Cargo Movers secured the solo lead in Pool B with a 7-2 finishing kick in the final set to outlast the Flying Titans and improved 3-0 in the standings before the 7,067 fans who came to witness the epic clash. Dy shone brilliantly after carrying out the onslaught for F2 Logistics with 24 points on 21 attacks, two blocks and an ace as Aby Maraño registered 14 points of her own. Jolina dela Cruz and Majoy Baron finished with 11 points apiece in the extended affair. Down by a set, the Cargo Movers steadily dug themselves out of the deficit in the fourth set by maintaining a one-point lead before pulling away late courtesy of Dy’s back-to-back points. F2 Logistics carried enough momentum heading into the fifth and final set, where they held a 7-4 advantage. However, Choco Mucho put the final set in its first deadlock of 9-all after Kat Tolentino’s block on Myla Pablo. She then gave the Flying Titans a slim advantage after scoring off-the-block, 10-9. From then on, Choco Mucho was in safe hands as Sisi Rondina hammered three consecutive hits, 13-11. Now at match point, the Flying Titans thought they had pulled away, but dela Cruz continued the fightback for the Cargo Movers with a crosscourt kill before Shola Alvarez fired a timely service ace to close the gap, 13-14. Dy then drilled a crosscourt shot, which went wide, however, a challenge was called that turned out to be a Choco Mucho net violation, tying the match at 14-all. F2 Logistics trailed once more when Bea de Leon scored on a quick hit, but dela Cruz took matters into her own hands this time and scored off the block after another successful challenge was called. Rondina continued to show her might from the back row, but dela Cruz’s service ace and Ivy Lacsina’s crosscourt shot ultimately put the match to rest. Rondina, for her part, paced Choco Mucho with 28 points, while Des Cheng logged 13 points before she was stretchered out of the court due to heat exhaustion. The Flying Titans now absorbed a 2-1 slate.
