2 drug pushers nabbed in Quezon buy-bust

SARIAYA, Quezon – Two suspected drug pushers were arrested and shabu worth P174,000 was seized in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Sampaloc 2 here on Monday night, July 10. Quezon police chief Police Col. Ledon Monte identified the suspects as Elpidio Malarasta, alias “Golle,” 55, and Mauricio Bautista, 46, residents of Barangay Concepcion Pinagbakuran, this town. Suspects yielded 8.57 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated street value of P174,828, a smartphone, and the buy-bust money. Ledon said that the suspects were arrested through numerous and validated reports from the community. Suspects face charges for violating Sections 5 and 11, Article 2, of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act 2002. Malarasta was a member of Perez Drug Group operating in Sariaya while Bautista was tagged as a street-level individual.
