Police nab 4 men for murder in Nueva Ecija


CAMP Olivas, City of San Fernando, Pampanga – Police arrested four men for allegedly killing a resident of Barangay Casile, Llanera, Nueva Ecija on Sunday, July 9.

The Nueva Ecija Police Provincial Office identified the victim as 55-year-old Elemito dela Cruz.

Dela Cruz was found dead with bullet wounds in the body in a farm in Barangay Gomez.

Police identified the suspects – Emmanuel Payag, Efren Duyon, Modesco Duyon, and Jojo Rapadas, residents of Llanera – who fled on board a motorcycle.

A hot pursuit operation was launched which resulted in their apprehension in Barangay Bagumbayan, Llanera on Sunday afternoon.

Seized from the suspects were a caliber .45 pistol, two caliber .30 carbine, and assorted magazine assemblies and live ammunition.

Charges for murder and violation of Republic Act 10591 (comprehensive law on firearms and ammunition) are being readied against the suspects, police said.

Police Regional Office-3 Director Police Brig.  Gen. Jose S. Hidalgo Jr. cited the arrest of the suspects.

“These arrests resulted from immediate reporting of crime and prompt response of our police troops. We continue to assure the public that Central Luzon cops are giving its best efforts to prevent and solve crimes and uphold the rule of law.”
