Marcos stated this as he accepted the credentials of new South Korean Ambassador to the Philippines Lee Sang-hwa on Monday, July 10, in Malacañang.

Lee, in his remarks, expressed his keen commitment to elevating relations between the two countries to new heights, especially as both countries are anticipating their 75th anniversary of diplomatic ties next year.

“Today, as I assume my duty as ambassador, I reaffirm our unwavering commitment to strengthening ties that bind our nation, given that Korea and the Philippines have a lot in common and share core values such as democracy, freedom and the rule of law," Lee said.

"I am confident we can do much, much more together for a win-win partnership,” the South Korean envoy added.

The President, on the other hand, acknowledged the strong bilateral ties with South Korea and expressed hope that the good relations will continue to grow in every aspect.

Prior to his appointment as the South Korean ambassador to the Philippines, Lee served as his country’s top envoy to Myanmar.
