Celebrities have busy schedules. Yet many of them have shown their passion for being charitable. So it becomes truly wonderful when they find the time to connect and create unforgettable moments for those who admire them. On July 16, actor-politician Alfred Vargas announced that he will hold a special anniversary celebration with his fans club, known as solid friends, at SM Novaliches in Quezon City. "Ito yung fans club ko ever since. My solid fans established it on July 4, 2005, panahon ng Encantadia. They have supported me kahit noong baguhan pa lang ako. They believed in me anuman ang panahon. From 20 members noong simula, ngayon 40K members na," Alfred said. (This is my fans club ever since. My solid fans established it on July 4, 2005, during 'Encantadia' days. They have supported me even when I was just a beginner. They believed in me regardless of the season. From 20 members at the beginning, now we have more than 40K members.) Alfred added: "Later on, nag evolve na rin into a community volunteer organization na siya na tumutulong sa mga nangangailangan. May mga yearly projects kami like Zumbayan, linis-barangay, youth concert, leadership trainings, medical missions, at marami pang iba." "Swerte ako dahil meron talaga akong supporters na nandyan para sa akin through my ups and downs in life," he said. (I'm lucky because I really have supporters who are there for me through my ups and downs in life.) Alfred also said that his brother Cong. PM is also a member of solid friends. "Actually, siya ang pinakaunang solid friend ko since pinanganak siya. Idol niya kasi si kuya niya ever since. Siya ngayon ang official president ng solid friends." (Actually, he was my first solid friend since he was born. His idol is his older brother ever since. He is now the official president of solid friends.) Alfred said that he is excited to host the 38th Star Awards for Movies at the Manila Hotel on July 16. "Super enjoy ko maghost. Maraming hindi nakakaalam, I’m always invited to host different kinds of events. I love celebrating special moments and gatherings ng mga tao. I’m also a trainer din kasi. I train young leaders and aspiring professionals who want to excel in their respective fields," he said. (I really enjoy hosting. "I was part of the first batch of his hosting workshop. Sa kanya ko talaga natutunan ang hosting na may sincerity at katuturan. One of the lessons, I remember, is that if you want to be a good host, you must first become a good and genuine listener. Pakinggan mo ang taong kausap mo at dun mo makikita ang puso niya," he added.
