* Quezon City Police District (QCPD) operatives seized P1,360,000 worth of “shabu” from a 40-year-old man in a buy-bust operation in the city on Sunday, July 9. The QCPD District Drug Enforcement Unit (DDEU) identified the suspect as Ruben Madarang, resident of Project 8, Barangay Toro, Quezon City. He was arrested along Congressional Avenue, Barangay Bahay Toro, Quezon City at around 7:10 p.m. on Sunday. According to the police, DDEU operatives conducted the entrapment against Madarang in coordination of Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), after a concerned citizen tipped off the alleged drug peddling activity of the suspect in the area. A police officer posed as a buyer and successfully bought P79,000 worth of "shabu'' from Madarang which led to his arrest.

Operatives confiscated around 200 grams of “shabu” with a stree value of P1,360,000, a cellular phone, a motorcycle, and the buy-bust money.
The arrested suspect is currently under police custody and will face charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act of 2002, police said.
