Why Ellen Adarna will not accept more than ₱20K as financial support from ex, John Lloyd Cruz

Despite parting ways, former celebrity couple Ellen Adarna and John Lloyd Cruz were able to fairly divide their roles and responsibilities to co-parent their son, Elias.

Ellen discussed the issue in a Q&A session on Instagram, focusing on the financial aspect of the matter.

When asked if John Lloyd is supporting Elias financially, she said, "Yes, he does."

When John Lloyd asked her how much, she gave him a breakdown of their child's "basic needs."

"And that's 10,000 pesos max," she related.

Ellen noted how John Lloyd insisted on doubling it.

"I know he's more than capable of giving more than that, but I told him I cannot accept anything more than 20,000 pesos, and that's it," she said.

"Because we are co-parenting, I have my obligations and responsibilities for Elias, so it's just fair," she explained. "So, there. Anything more than 20,000 pesos for me is just not right, morally not right, because he's not schooling yet. He hasn't started school, so that's just basic needs."

Meanwhile, in another post, Ellen also talked about how she handles household finances with husband Derek Ramsay.

She shared that it is still basically the same as when they started dating.

"He has his own, I have my own but we do have a joint account and we only use that for emergency... when there's something at home or when we travel," was how she put it.

"So far there's no problem pa naman about the finances..."

How about Derek providing her financial support now that they're married?

Ellen responded: "Maybe if I don't have a job and there's no money coming in, maybe I will ask money from him but that's a desperate situation already."

She reiterated: "Masakit sa loob ko, 'day. Mabigat to ask something from someone. I wasn't raised like that and knowing myself I will never allow that to happen to me, I will find ways. So like I said the situation is the same when we first started dating. He has his own, I have my own."
