Parañaque LGU celebrates first anniversary of Center for Children with Special Needs
The Parañaque city government celebrated the first year anniversary of its Center for Children with Special Needs at Barangay Sto. Niño on Friday, June 30.
Mayor Eric Olivarez and Rep. Edwin Olivarez attended the ceremony.
Olivarez said the celebration of the center honored the hard work of its staff headed by Center Administrator Nessie Baculo.

The mayor thanked Baculo and the center for their unending support and service delivery to children with special needs.
Olivarez said the center in the city is the first center in Metro South and second in the National Capital Region (NCR) giving services to children with special needs.
He said around 477 children with neurodevelopmental disorders like Autism Spectrum Disorder, Down Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, ADHD (attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder), GDD (global development delay), learning and intellectual disabilities were given help and various services of the center.
The mayor said the center already conducted a total of 3,490 therapy sessions like occupational therapy, speech and language therapy, physical therapy, music therapy, ABA (applied behavior analysis) therapy and transition.
Olivarez said the sessions are a big help for children with special needs to become self-sufficient.
He also said the city government will continue to support the center to better help and give services to children with special needs.
The mayor specially mentioned and thanked Rep. Olivarez and Councilor Marvin Santos who sponsored and initiated the building the center.
