La Salle middle blocker Fifi Sharma has decided to turn pro with the Akari Chargers in the Premier Volleyball League.
Sharma was spotted in the Chargers’ opening match that saw them lose to the PLDT High Speed Hitters in straight sets on Saturday, July 1, at the Filoil EcoOil Centre in San Juan City.

The 22-year-old Sharma was donning the pro team’s shirt as her exit from the UAAP Season 85 women’s volleyball champion squad was confirmed by Akari in a tweet. “Now in the Home of the Akari Chargers. Welcome Fifi Sharma,” Akari wrote. Sharma saw action for La Salle for two seasons and still has three playing years left in the league. The 5-foot-11 blocker was part of the Lady Spikers team who finished as a runner-up in Season 84 before going on to end a five-year title drought the following year. She is likely to be fielded by Akari in the season-ending conference later this year.
