Apostolic Vicariate of Calapan in Oriental, Mindoro Bishop-elect Moises Cuevas has expressed his readiness to serve the faithful of Calapan.

Bishop Cuevas said he is ready to shepherd the more than 900,000 Roman Catholics together with the 70 priests in the 23 parishes in the Apostolic Vicariate as he asked for prayers in his new assignment.
*“*Rest assured of my readiness to serve the Church of Calapan as its Vicar Apostolic,” said Bishop Cuevas over Radio Veritas.
The Church leader expressed his gratitude to Fr. Nestor Adalia who served as Apostolic Administrator of the Vicariate for the last four years since the resignation of Bishop Warlito Cajandig due to health problems.
Bishop Cuevas likewise thanked the faithful of the Archdiocese of Zamboanga where he has been serving as its Auxiliary Bishop since 2020 and as Apostolic Administrator since 2022.
“I wish to express my inexplicable gratitude for the Church of Zamboanga in allowing me to journey with its people as a pastor and servant. The Archdiocese of Zamboanga is truly blessed because of its rich heritage of the Catholic faith and commitment of its people towards the Gospel,” the bishop said.
Bishop Cuevas also expressed his gratitude to Pope Francis for the opportunity to serve the Archdiocese of Zamboanga as its Auxiliary Bishop and later as its Apostolic Administrator.
The Vatican announced Bishop Cuevas “ new assignment on June 29, Feast of Saints Peter and Paul, which is also observed as Pope’s Day.
A native of Batangas City, Bishop Cuevas was born on Nov. 25, 1973. He was ordained priest of the Archdiocese of Zamboanga on Dec. 6, 2000 and became a bishop on Aug..24, 2020.
