A man was injured when a liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) tank exploded in Sampaloc, Manila on Friday night, June 30.
Manila Police District (MPD) Barbosa Police Station (PS14) identified the victim as Romulo Perante, 42, driver of Metro North Gas Corporation where the tank exploded.
Based on the initial investigation, an 11-kilogram LPG gas tank inside Metro North Gas Corporation exploded at around 11 a.m., followed by a fire.
The fire reached the first alarm at 11:43 p.m. and was extinguished at 11:52 p.m.
Arson investigators said the victim sustained lacerations on his back, and third to fourth degree burns on different parts of his body.
Police said the victim was rushed to Jose Reyes Memorial Medical Center where he is currently under observation.
Authorities said the incident damaged about P40,000 worth of property. (Richielyn Canlas)
