READ: School's statement on the viral video of intoxicated student
Investigation is now ongoing
Netizens were shocked when the video of an alleged drunk college student arguing with a senior high school teacher went viral on social media. The incident happened on June 6, 2023. To shed light on the incident, the Manila Bulletin Lifestyle reached out to STI College Ortigas-Cainta campus, the school where the viral video happened, to hear their side of the story. STI acknowledged that it indeed happened in their campus and that they are now conducting a thorough investigation. “The administration of STI College Ortigas-Cainta acknowledges the video depicting an unfortunate incident that occurred on our campus. We take this matter very seriously and are committed to addressing it promptly and responsibly,” Jezreez Rodavia, School Administrator, STI College Ortigas-Cainta Campus said. “While we cannot comment on the specific details of the incident due to privacy regulations, we want to assure the public that we have initiated a thorough investigation into the matter. We are collaborating with all parties involved to gain a comprehensive understanding of the situation and ensure that appropriate actions are taken.”

The school administrator also said that STI does not support this kind of drunken behavior. “The views expressed by the intoxicated student in the video do not align with the values and principles of the institution. We are an institution that promotes respectful and constructive dialogue among students, faculty, and staff,” she said. “We understand the concerns and discussions surrounding this incident circulating online. While we cannot control the spread of the video, we encourage responsible engagement and respectful dialogue.
