An alarm signaled the start of the earthquake drill at 9 a.m. Police personnel demonstrated the proper way of conducting a drop, cover, and hold position. After the alarm went off, participants evacuated from offices and assembled at the parade ground where a headcount was held. The full-scale exercise included ground maintenance safety and inspection, search and rescue, medical and first aid emergency, firefighting, evacuation, security, and reserve and communication. “I thank everyone who participated in this purposeful activity,” PRO-13 Director Police Brig. Gen. Pablo G. Labra II said. “Preparedness is crucial because it enables our personnel to react quickly and effectively during a real earthquake, potentially saving lives and reducing injuries,” Labra said. A government initiative, the earthquake drill aims to encourage disaster preparedness and resilience among Filipinos.
