Marcos said this as two of the country's active volcanoes– Taal in Batangas and Mayon in Albay– continue to exhibit alarming activities, with Taal Volcano under Alert Level 1 and Mayon Volcano under Alert Level 2.

In an interview with reporters at the Manila Hotel on Thursday evening, June 8, the President assured the public that the government is prepared for any eventuality, including assisting those evacuated.

"Naka-ready naman na tayo. Ganoon naman talaga ang ating ginagawa (We're ready. That's what we always do)," Marcos said.

"We watch it very, very closely. Make sure that any of the communities that could be affected are evacuated and are given assistance while they are evacuated until the time that they can return to their homes. It's the same thing," he added.

Meanwhile, in a statement, Communications Secretary Cheloy Garafil said on Friday, June 9, that the regional office of the Department of Agriculture (DA), in coordination with other concerned agencies, is closely monitoring the Mayon Volcano situation.

The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) raised Mayon Volcano's alert level to Alert Level 3 (increasing tendency towards a hazardous eruption) due to the increased volume and frequency of rockfall events.

Residents who live within the six-kilometer Permanent Danger Zone (PDZ) were advised to evacuate their homes due to the risks posed by the increasing volcanic activity in the area.

The DA's Regional Field Office V (DA-RFO5) also advised farmers to move their animals to safer areas and secure farm equipment and machinery. Additionally, an inventory of livestock populations inside the six-kilometer PDZ was prepared.

The DA has also prepositioned hauling trucks at Tabaco City and Camalig, Albay Research, Outreach Stations and updated its seed reserves.

Taal Volcano remained on Alert Level 1 as of Thursday evening, but the gas emission prompted local governments to suspend classes.
