P3-M shabu seized in Mandaue City


CEBU CITY – Two drug pushers were arrested while suspected shabu worth more than P3 million was seized in separate anti-illegal drug operations on Thursday, June 8, in Mandaue City.

Suspects were identified as Alvin Araneta and Jufel Baybay.

Police Col. Jeffrey Caballes, chief of the Mandaue City Police Office (MCPO), said the two suspects are considered as high-value targets.

Caballes said the two suspects are among the drug personalities the MCPO has been monitoring.

Araneta was cornered by operatives of the Mandaue Police Station 5 in Barangay Umapad.

The team of Police Capt. Waldo Batad seized from Araneta’s possession at least half a kilo of suspected shabu worth P3.4 million.

In the same barangay, the MCPO Drug Enforcement Unit headed by Police Lt. Troy John Lalamunan arrested Baybay with 50 grams of shabu worth P340,000.
