* MIAA Officer-in-Charge Bryan Co apologized to passengers for any inconvenience that the power outage, which struck at 12:51 p.m., could have caused them. Co blamed the power interruption on the “carelessness” of one of their personnel who left a testing cable attached to an electric equipment, triggering the brownout. He pointed out that “shortly after the power went off, the MIAA generator sets kicked in, causing minimal disruption in airport processes”. While no flights were cancelled because of the brownout -- the third to occur at the NAIA in the last six months, seven flights were delayed due to the power outage. MIAA assured the riding public that what happened on Friday was “not equipment-related, but a procedural lapse on the part of MServ personnel”.
