Manila LGU announces road closure, coding scheme suspension on Independence Day


The City of Manila announced on Friday, June 9, the closure of some roads and the suspension of the number coding scheme in the city on Independence Day, June 12.

It said the following roads will be closed starting 12 a.m. to 10 a.m. on Monday:

  • Roxas Boulevard Southbound (from Katigbak Parkway to South Drive)
  • Stretch of Katigbak Parkway
  • Stretch of Independence Road
  • Stretch of South Drive

Meanwhile, Roxas Boulevard Northbound (from Teodoro Manguiat Kalaw Avenue to Padre Burgos Avenue) will be closed from 5 a.m. to 10 a.m.

Motorists are advised to take alternate routes.

In line with the celebration of the country's 125th Independence Day, the Manila Development Authority (MMDA) also announced the suspension of the expanded number coding scheme. (Richielyn Canlas)
