Forget florals! This collection presents beachwear inspired by astrology

The stars align as Fendi unveils its summer 2023 capsule collection.

When we think of resort wear, what usually comes to mind are tropical printed pieces, from floral printed dresses to shirts and other swim essentials that mirror the natural wonders of the sea. This time, one fashion house looks up and seeks inspiration from heavenly bodies. The stars align as Fendi unveils its latest summer 2023 capsule collection, dubbed “Fendi Astrology.” All about ease, elegance, and the beauty of the constellation, the Italian fashion house presents a new take on summertime dressing decorated with written signs of the zodiac (in English and Italian) and astrological prints originally drawn by the late fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld.    Womenswear and menswear pieces from the 'Fendi Astrology' collection
Kim Jones, the brand’s artistic director of couture and womenswear, reimagined the archival designs into draped satin kaftans, dresses, separates, and blousons designed to be layered over swimwear. The theme is also echoed by the menswear offerings led by artistic director of accessories and menswear Silvia Venturini Fend. Astrology-printed silk shirts, nylon board shorts, and jersey Ts make the perfect beachfront wardrobe while silk and cotton separates, alongside denim and gabardine outerwear, present elevated accompaniments. Also part of the collection is the new look of the label’s signature bags—the Peekaboo and Baguette. Zodiac expressions appear through colorful threads and pearls sewn across denim, canvas, and jacquard bodies. Rounding up the collection is an assortment of jewelry pieces imbued with astrological signs by artistic director of jewelry Delfina Delettrez Fendi. The jewelry line features sleek charms that can be worn as a mono-earring or as a necklace pendant thanks to a little crystal stud. Combined together, the twelve astrological signs create an exclusive eye-catching statement necklace, while bold fabric bracelets match the ready-to-wear line-up, featuring the zodiac signs and signatures from the archive.
